About me
Dr Sara Yang is an assistant professor in the Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Department with further specialized training in Facial Plastics and Microvascular Reconstruction. She received her surgical training at Loyola University where she developed a passion for complex head and neck reconstruction, prompting her to pursue fellowship training with Dr Mark Wax at OHSU. She is excited to be stay at OHSU to continue to provide her expertise in facial reconstruction which encompasses- microvascular reconstruction for head and neck cancer, neuroplastics, gender affirming facial surgery for transgender patients, and facial trauma.
Dr Yang is passionate about helping her patients to feel seen and heard. Complex reconstruction of the head and neck region can be a challenging journey. Her goals are to be sensitive to her patients’ needs during their recovery and to improve self-confidence in their appearance. She also hopes to explain medical concepts and terminology in a way that helps patients make informed decisions.
As a Pacific Northwest native who grew up in Richland, Washington, Dr Yang is excited to return to the area and explore the outdoors that Oregon has to offer. In her time off of work, she is often exploring nature, trying new foods, and dabbling in various art and crafts projects.
