About me

Dr. Akhavein enjoys the collaborative nature of her work—from getting to know patients and their families, to teaming up with other specialists. She learns something new from each of her patients, and the most gratifying part of her job is getting to know each of them, teaching patients about their cardiac diseases and partnering with them in their care.

  2. I have been seeing Dr. Akhavein for several years now, and I would consider her one of the best physicians I have ever seen. She is always friendly, has obviously studied my records before the appointment, provides plenty of information, isn't in a hurry and thoroughly answers whatever questions I may have. Dr. Akhavein checks all the boxes and is an excellent cardiologist.

But Beaverton location is truly fortunate to have her on staff. She so professional, yet she made me feel so comfortable. I had no hesitation to ask my many questions. It's hard for many specialists because patients health go beyond one issue. Yet, Dr. Akhavein was one that connected ALL the dots for me. Because she listened and looked at me as a whole. And as you know, patients don't all express correctly their symptoms. We fumble with it. Dr. Akhavein knew how to ask those right questions. Maybe overwhelmed wasn't the word to use. I was ecstatic, confident, and fortunate to have her as my doctor. I can say after my two apprs this week, I felt heard. I do hope that OHSU upper management realizes the exceptional doctors that are on their staff. As a patient, and after covid, I highly recognize our need for highly skilled medical staff. My concerns are that they are overloaded with patients. We have to remember they are human n have lives outside their professions. If OHSU upper management doesn't care, that's a no win situation for all of us. I do hope these doctors are recognized for their outstanding care. Some patients can't see it. Thanks for having her at Beaverton.

  14. Dr Akavian is a very nice, engaging physician, and is exceptionally eager to explain things in depth, and answer questions. I've been seeing her several years now since my previous cardiologist left, and don't regret it!

The most important thing was she didn't treat me like a herd like everybody else I was an individual and she met my needs for me. she asked me questions. She didn't rush she listened. She was so friendly and she just made my visit comfortable. She calmed me down and she gave me hope. Hope for my future and made me less anxious top notch doctor. I would definitely see her again and recommend so many people to her they don't make them like her. She's amazing.
