About me

Olivia Kroening-Roché was drawn to the practice of midwifery early in her career. She found midwifery to be the perfect place to live out her values of supporting her patients' rights, autonomy and self-determination. Olivia highly values shared-decision making with her patients, listening to their needs and helping them arrive at a choice that best fits them and their family. She is especially interested in providing trauma-informed care to birthing and pregnant people and in creating safer spaces for patients and midwifery students of color.

Prior to joining OHSU she completed a Fellowship in Global Clinical Education, teaching nursing and midwifery in Tanzania for a year. Her love of travel and other cultures has taken her around the world, from traveling with her partner for a year while living out of their backpacks to co-founding the non-profit Rural Health Collaborative.

She grew up in Portland and is delighted to live and work in the community she calls home.  She lives with her partner and child. When not at work she loves to have adventures, either on her bike throughout Portland or figuring out how to travel with a small child.

Insurance

Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
