About me

Dr. Maria Fleseriu is a neuroendocrinologist who cares for adult patients with a range of pituitary disorders, including acromegaly, Cushing disease/syndrome, growth hormone deficiency, prolactinoma and Rathke’s cleft cyst.

She is an internationally renowned expert on pituitary and adrenal disorders and has conducted many clinical trials. Dr. Fleseriu has also published over 250 articles in prestigious medical journals, including major guidelines for Cushing’s disease, acromegaly and hypopituitarism.

 Dr. Fleseriu works closely with patients, families and primary care providers to:

  • Provide care founded on evidence-based medicine and research
  • Respect their values, preferences and needs
  • Share information and education
  • Develop a tailored, comprehensive care plan
  • Ensure continuity of care as patients move to local providers

Dr. Fleseriu finds clinical research rewarding, as it can be directly applied to patients. She also learns from her patients and conducts studies based on their diagnoses and symptoms.

Outside of work, Dr. Fleseriu loves spending time with her family, traveling, hiking and taking long walks with her dog.
