Insurance
Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Amazing listening skills amd thorough
She took the time needed to listen to my concerns, addressed my questions, helped come up with a plan and I felt heard which is not always the case with providers at OHSU
They never got back to me about my blood panel even though a lot of my results came back bad and didn't care when I told her how sick I've been feeling
Dr had poor bedside manner and unprepared for the visit.
She's respectful and good at listening. She logs on the video calls on time.
My doctor listened to all of my concerns and tried to find ways to assist. She rechecked my medicines and planned how to respond if I had any further questions in the future. I was very pleased with being able to do a virtual visit as I live nearly 6 hours away. I also do not drive in the city, so the person that usually takes me is unavailable in the summer. I am beyond thankful for this doctor and this method of communication. I am beyond happy with this video call and my doctor.
Very concerned
Dr. Childres is a very compassionate and competent doctor.
She was very considerate, professional, and thorough. I felt like she listened to my questions and concerns and worked to find ways to help me with them. She seemed very knowledgeable, yet personable.
I would feel comfortable bragging about the car I received when I was there from capable doctors and nurses, but the logistics of waiting for appointments would make me not recommend
She's taking over a big load and I think she's doing great she's helped me a lot and also the pharmacist helped me and we're changing up a lot of the meds and trying to get me off of insulin that's great!! Was improved immensely since coming back to Harold snyster's diabetic clinic and OHSU I'm battling stage 4 cancer and they have been a tremendous help compared to outside organizations that I was attended to I love OHSU and I can't talk enough of positiveness of the people that run the place doctor and also nurse there and all the people in between even the cafeteria is fantastic keep up the good work and I'm glad to be part of OHSU
I had a good visit however blood tests were ordered & returned with some fairly abnormal results for kidney function. I have yet to have any comment from the Dr.
She is easy and pleasant to communicate with, is clear about how important concerns are, and has provided great care
I really like it
She was outstanding! Professional but pleasant. Asked excellent questions and listened carefully to my responses. Was well informed about the treatments for my conditions. I felt like I was receiving the best of care.
Really good.
Professional, friendly, listens well, relates well, thorough and willing to answer questions.
Very personable and knowledgeable.
I explained some previous negative interactions with endocrinologists, and Dr Childress blew me away. She listened to me and offered advice, and she made sure I understood that I am in control, and any suggestions are purely that. If they dont work for me, I should stop and do what I know. She also shared some recent diabetes medical advancements I was not aware of, and I am so happy to explore these new options.
She was open and warm. She answered my questions. Was very knowledgable and practical. I liked her very much.
Time wait is too long
She was warm, kind, and interested not only in what questions I had, but also in answering them in a way I could understand
My experiences with Dr. Childress have been excellent. She is easy and comfortable to speak with. She listens to my concerns/questions and addresses them clearly. Great doctor!
Dr. Childress was very thorough and addressed all my concerns. I feel very comfortable with her.
Dr Childress is very easy to talk to and down to earth, which is what I need in a provider. She answered my questions and was not judgmental
She was nice and knowledgeable about diabetes but I just wish I had more personalized care.
I was amazed by how much ground we covered in my first visit and afterwards I was able to get my labs done before leaving the building. Definitely exceed my expectations.
Dr. Childress was wonderful. Very nice, considerate, attentive to all my concerns.
Very knowledgeable and professional though availability of appointments is a concern.
They were very professional..explained all questions I asked.
