About me

Dr. Roy is a psycho-oncologist and a passionate advocate for women and underrepresented physicians in organized medicine. She is board certified in Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.Currently, she is a faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at OHSU. She is an attending at the Unity Center for Behavioral Health and at Knight Cancer Institute.

Dr. Roy has served as a Faculty Senator at Oregon Health & Science University. She also served as the faculty liaison to the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Subcommittee reporting to the Undergraduate Medical Education Committee at OHSU.

Dr. Roy has been actively involved in organized medicine since her residency training. She is a Fellow of APA. She served as a delegate to the International Medical Graduate (IMG) Section of the American Medical Association (AMA). She also chaired the AMA IMG Section. She also serves as a voting member of the Academic Physicians Section at the AMA. She is the Chair of the Awards and Fellowship Subcommittee of the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (ACLP). She also presides over the APA Women's Caucus. As an advocate of IMGs, Dr. Roy has authored and propagated several resolutions facilitating IMG physicians. Dr. Roy published about the IMG physician workforce in a leading journal, shedding light on the interface of healthcare and immigration legislation. She is currently investigating the effect of implicit and explicit biases on IMGs in a national sample. Dr. Roy's passion is to advocate for legislation related to the healthcare workforce, scope of practice, and inclusion of underrepresented and minoritized physicians.

Dr. Roy received her Master's in Clinical Research at OHSU Human Investigations Program.  She currently serves as a board member of the Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research, and a member of the Sigma Xi Professional Scholars Association, Willamette-Columbia Chapter.
