Dr. Ashraf has an in-depth knowledge of TED, exhibits a caring attitude and he is very responsive to patient needs. In respect to the latter, he responded to my recent request to restart infusion therapy the same day at 7:30 pm on a Friday evening. In days, new orders were released, insurance issues resolved and the (tocilizumab) infusion was initiated reducing TED eye symptoms. This was an impressive performance by Ashraf and his staff.
SThe doctor and PA and anesthesiologist explained what they would do and how It would affect me. Very thorough.

Dr Ashraf is GREAT! Attentive, addresses questions and concerns, kind, skilled.
Kind, respectful, good listener, knowledgeable
Good listener and communicator. Very knowledgeable.
Dr. Ashraf is amazing. He is very kind, professional and knowledgeable. I wouldn't trust my eye care to anyone else.
Dr. Ashraf is highly skilled, he perfects his craft by always looking for new ways to improve. During my procedure I couldn't even feel the needle poke as he numbed my eye due to the vibrating too he used close to the nerves to distract them. It made the procedure easy to tolerate, better than going to the dentist any day! Thank you for the excellent care you provided!
Comfortable. Relaxed.
He is very calm and extremely nice. Answered all of my questions and I have a lot of them.
Very thorough instructions and understanding of the procedure was excellent
Dr Ashraf was fabulous and I'm extremely happy with my outcome and recovery
I appreciated the bedside manner , the clinician didn't seem to be Irate or quick and annoyed or anything to that effect , much appreciated
Very personalble
Explained everything in detail
The whole experience could not have been better.
He takes his time with patients and is very caring.
The resident took my initial story. She was so kind and wonderful-but they always say "my name is Doctor xxxxx" so I thought this was my Doctor. It turned out this was a student who relayed what I said to my actual docto. I feel like a lot got lost in translation but by the time the Doctor came to see me there was not enough time to be thorough and repeat my story because they seemed in a hurry. I was a little upset because I waited so long and drove three hours away to not have any testing of my eye. I had a small eye exam just like I have had for 3+ years and there was no advanced testing. Everyone said OHSU has advanced training and techniques but I didn't notice this. I Wanted my provider to do test for Sjorgens the dry eye test-Schirmers test to see the level of tears my eye was making because my rheumatologist and eye doctors have been wanting this but I didn't feel I had time to talk to the providers because it literally took me FOREVER to tell three years+ of eye problems to the technicians then the resident then the doctor. I felt saddened and frustrated I thought I would come to this visit and they would have already known why I was there and done more advanced testing.
I would say that I did not receive the results I had hoped for. I know he was thorough in describing what he did do.....but one of my concern areas was not addressed. Did he cover it all completely or was there responsibility on me to ask deeper questions? He did have a solution for what my concern is, however it would have been great to do this all in one surgery if possible. He me gave me several options to take care of what still concerns me.
Very personable, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with
