About me
Chelsea Doherty is a pediatric nurse practitioner who moved to the Portland area in the summer of 2017. Prior to that, she had been living in Boston where she worked at Boston Children’s Hospital for 10 years. The last 5 years Chelsea practiced as a nurse practitioner in the gastroenterology (GI) department. GI has always been her passion within medicine.
Prior to moving to Boston for college in 2002, Chelsea was born and raised in Bellevue, WA. She relocated from Boston to Portland with her husband, son, and Yorkshire terrier. She is excited to be back on the west coast, but will continue to cheer for New England sports, in addition to the Seahawks!

Insurance
Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Everything is fine
She did address the problem. And listened. But I feel she was narrow minded and could have been more open to seeking other causes for the issue in a more patient and caring way. Yes, she's confident as more specialists are, but we're in the same place as several years ago and she gave the same direction.
She is an excellent listener and very approachable. Gave high quality education, clear directions, and specific follow up instructions. Very happy with the care we received.
Always very helpful and listened to all our concerns. Able to provide solutions and gave instructions in a clear and concise way.
Was impressed with depth of knowledge and level of collaboration she and I were able to reach--felt already that we are on the same page.
We are excellently served
She was amazing! Very thorough. Explained everything very well. Was very kind.
Chelsea is amazing! She listens and is so kind
Chelsea Doherty is incredible. I have already recommended her multiple times to family/friends. We sent a personal thank you card to the clinic for her- she gave us so many good days back with our son that we wouldn't have had otherwise. She is a blessing!!!!
Very kind and respectful. Good at conversations and good at what she does. For example, her excellent solutions.
The gastroenterologist was kind and understood my kid's situation.
