Insurance
Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
Visit our billing and insurance page for more information.

I have been a patient of Dr. Klopfenstein's for many years and appreciate the time she takes to listen and work through my medical issues. And I am able to reach her through MyChart messaging and get a timely response.
The Dr was very helpful in explaining the problems that I deal with.
I trust the clinician as a friend.
She is simply the best. She is incredibly competent, kind, and answers all of my questions. OHSU is very fortunate to have her on their faculty and I am fortunate to have her as my physician.
Dr. Klophenstein is caring, extremely knowledgeable, a good listener, and is one of the best in her field. Over more than ten years, I have always had excellent care from her.

Dr. Klopfenstein is my doctor now for several years and I am very happy with her engagement finding conclusions for my health. She is very engaged in my health and well being. I appreciate this very much, not all doctors are doing this. She is always very friendly and helpful. I am glad that she is my doctor.
Excellent medical expert who cares about my health. Very important person for me.
They made it enjoyable. At least as enjoyable as could be expected.
Bethany has 1st hand knowledge and experience with my medical condition. I really like when she talks with me and not at me. Nice pleasant voice, doesn't talk too fast.
She is very professional and goes over every detail of my health care.
Not just a clinician, but a good friend.

Excellent doctor!
Very professional
Dr Klopfenstein is an excellent physician and has excellent communication skills. I trust her.
Fine
Of course she's smart & thorough. She is one of the few physicians I'm not afraid of. I never have to worry that she's going to be patronizing or patient-blaming. Locally, T2D is mostly treated by PCP's and clinics w only surgeons & nutritionists. Had a different Endo say she doesn't treat diabetics "because they all lie". I'm grateful for Dr Klopfenstein.
Very personal and professional. She answered all my questions very well.
She is an excellent doctor
Dr. Klopfenstein was very concerned and informative about my experience.
