Dr. Wong specializes in blood. She completed fellowships in both pediatric hematology/oncology and transfusion medicine/blood bank. As such, she splits her time between caring for children with blood disorders, such as those with sickle cell disease or clotting disorders, and helping patients of all ages who need a blood transfusion. When not involved in direct patient care, she researches the clotting defects acquired by critically-ill children, particularly those who receive extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

Outside of work, Dr. Wong and her husband can be found cooking, gardening or chasing after their two daughters. When she needs to get away from it all, she often hides in a good non-fiction book or in a pool swimming endless laps.
