About me
Sydney grew up in the Silicon Valley and studied Public Health and Chinese at Tulane University, where she discovered an interest in qualitative research while interviewing students about their experience with sexuality, sexual health, and sexual violence on campus. During her gap year, she came home to the Bay Area to work as a medical assistant for Planned Parenthood, solidifying her interest in abortion care. While at Duke University for medical school, she spent much of her free time educating about and advocating for abortion access, serving as chapter president of Medical Students for Choice, interning with Sister Song Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective, working as a teaching assistant for an abortion provider oral histories project, and volunteering as a clinic escort for the local Planned Parenthood. She also designed a mixed methods study investigating contraceptive decision-making during molar pregnancy monitoring. She is passionate about abortion de-stigmatization, sexual health/pleasure, and storytelling. Outside of the hospital, Sydney loves being outside, running, and reading and is determined to explore all 80 miles of Forest Park’s trails!

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
