About me
As an ophthalmology genetic counselor, Rebecca provides counseling to patients, guiding them through the intricacies of ocular genetic testing and facilitating research participation. With a Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from Brandeis University and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Brigham Young University, she brings a wealth of expertise to her current role.
Rebecca's dedication to the field is underscored by her previous research experience at the National Eye Institute (NEI), her internship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, and her fellowship in the Ophthalmic Genetics division at the Casey Eye Institute. Rebecca’s clinical and research interests focus on inherited retinal diseases, novel gene therapies, and familial communication of hereditary disease.
Beyond her professional roles, Rebecca finds rejuvenation in trail running and mountaineering. Coming from a large family, she enjoys any opportunity to connect with her siblings, nephews and nieces, and friends that feel like family.
