About me
Rachel is a New Mexican hailing from Albuquerque where she attended the University of New Mexico for her BS in Biology, MPH in Epidemiology, and MD. Prior to medical school, she worked as a medical assistant for a surgeon providing gender-affirming care and as a maternal child health epidemiologist. Her research areas of interest include family planning, trauma-informed care, and intimate partner violence, and she is passionate about improving and expanding all these areas in both medical education and clinical practice. She is thrilled to further all these interests at OHSU. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outside distance running and backpacking, or inside exploring new recipes with her cats and partner.

Insurance
Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
