About me

Norma Vestal enjoys handling complex patient situations while working in a fast-paced setting. She realized early in her career that she wanted to become a nurse practitioner. She decided on the adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner track so she could provide care to adults, including older adults, both in the hospital and in clinics. She provides complex monitoring, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, and develops complex treatment plans based on current evidence-based practices to stabilize each patient and maximize their overall health. Her focus is to manage current and ongoing problems and prevent complications for post-colorectal and abdominal wall surgical patients. She also enjoys working as clinical faculty at a teaching hospital because it gives her the opportunity to be a mentor and instructor to residents and nursing staff.

Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and enjoys camping, landscape photography and astrophotography. She and her husband have three boys (two of whom are adults) and an 8-year-old cat, who runs the house.

Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network.
