About me
I am a trauma, emergency general and critical care surgeon. I care for patients of all ages—from children to older adults—who are experiencing sudden, serious or life-threatening conditions.
Whether it's a traumatic injury, a ruptured appendix, or complex complications like hemorrhagic shock, I’m here to help patients and their families through some of the most challenging moments in their lives.
Before joining OHSU, I served in the U.S. Army, where I completed medical school at the Uniformed Services University and my surgery training at Madigan Army Medical Center. I then completed a fellowship in trauma and critical care at Vanderbilt. My time in military medicine—including deployments to Syria, Iraq and Kuwait—has shaped how I approach care: with precision, teamwork, and a deep respect for every patient’s unique story.
I believe in using the best available evidence and a team-based approach to provide high-quality, outcome-focused care. I’m especially passionate about resuscitation—getting patients stabilized quickly and safely, even when resources are limited. I also focus on how care teams work together in high-stress situations, because collaboration can save lives.
If you or a loved one ever need emergency surgery or trauma care, know that my team and I are committed to treating you with compassion, skill, and respect.
