About me
I specialize in treating patients with seizures of all forms and am fellowship trained in both clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy. As part of OHSU's initiative to address health care disparities in minority groups, I champion for the African American and LGBTQ+ communities, specifically patients on gender-affirming hormone therapy. When not working in the Epilepsy Clinic, I also help lead the inpatient neurology ward and consult services, maintaining a wide breadth of expertise in the field of neurology with an emphasis on sleep, neuroendocrine and neuropsychiatric disorders.
Enhancing the OHSU patient experience, I am a leader in Canine-Assisted Care and am often accompanied by my Medical Service Dog/Seizure Detection Dog, Reggie, when seeing patients. I also help neurology patients seeking service dog training and Canine-Assisted Care integration into their treatment plan.
In my free time, I enjoy fitness-related activities of all forms, including martial arts, weightlifting, yoga, axe throwing, bowling, dog training/canine fitness and nutrition.
As Assistant Program Director of the Neurology Residency Training Program, I strongly advocate for Resident wellness and enriching the residents' education in the realms of Diversity, Patient conflict resolution and Preparation for Independent Practice.

Insurance
Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
