Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.

Laurel Hallock-Koppelman is a family nurse practitioner with a special interest in women's health and family medicine. She became a nurse practitioner after working as a nurse in hospitals. She was troubled by the number of people who needed access to health care to avoid serious health problems like stroke or high blood pressure. She appreciates the opportunity she now has to practice preventive medicine. She works to diagnose and treat the whole person rather than the disease.

Dr. Hallock-Koppelman has a special interest in substance use disorders and the use of buprenorphine for treatment of opioid addiction and pain.

When she's not working, Dr. Hallock-Koppelman loves to read, play tennis, run with her two dogs and spend time her husband and two teenagers.
