About me

Kimberly (Kim) Spiro, PhD is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), pediatric psychologist, and Co-Founder of the Novel Interventions in Children's Healthcare (NICH) program. She has dedicated her career to improving access to care and health outcomes for children and adolescents with complex medical and behavioral health needs by partnering with families and addressing the barriers that can make healthcare difficult to access and navigate.

Dr. Spiro specializes in behavioral and family-based interventions for children, adolescents, and young adults across a wide range of developmental, behavioral, and medical conditions. Throughout her career, she has developed, adapted, and implemented evidence-based interventions that empower youth and families, strengthen collaboration between families and healthcare teams, and help children successfully manage complex or chronic health conditions.

She is passionate about building healthcare systems that meet families where they are, recognize the unique strengths and challenges of every family, and provide individualized support that helps children and families thrive.

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Visit our billing and insurance page for more information.
