Dr. Carrie Anne Phillipi is a pediatrician who focuses on newborn care, breastfeeding medicine and medical education. She loves working with mothers and infants and helping children grow and thrive. A large part of Dr. Phillipi's work is devoted to training medical students, residents and fellows to effectively and compassionately care for children and their families.
She believes helping train future pediatricians is one of the best parts of her job.
Dr. Phillipi, a native of Los Angeles, dedicates her research to improving the evidence base for care during newborns’ hospitalization and transition to home. She works with other researchers across the country to find ways to improve outcomes for newborns through national research networks.

Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
