About me
Dr. Barry Hansford is an academic musculoskeletal radiologist who received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, completed a diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Chicago, and a musculoskeletal radiology fellowship at the University of Michigan. Dr. Hansford spent two years as a faculty member at the University of Utah before joining OHSU in 2017.
At the OHSU School of Medicine, Dr. Hansford is an associate professor of radiology as well as the musculoskeletal imaging and intervention fellowship director. He is passionate about radiology education and aside from mentoring greater than 20 fellows and numerous residents, he has served on national committees dedicated to trainee education including the Residency and Fellowship Education Committee within the Society of Skeletal Radiology.
His professional and research interests include bone and soft tissue tumors, sports medicine/magnetic resonance imaging, image-guided procedures, and musculoskeletal ultrasound. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers and given more than 50 national and international presentations.
On a personal note, as a native Chicagoan who has lived on both coasts, Dr. Hansford and his family are happily settled in the Portland area and enjoy taking advantage of all the striking beauty the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
