Cancer Data Science Shared Resource
The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute's Cancer Data Science Shared Resource (CDSSR) supports investigators as cancer research grows increasingly data-intensive, drawing on large, heterogeneous datasets and sophisticated computational methods. Our services span advanced statistical methods, bioinformatics, and qualitative data collection and analysis, reflecting both the scale of modern cancer data and the growing need to understand how people experience health interventions. Across all of these services, we are committed to rigorous and reproducible research.
How we can help
- Office hours support meeting briefly with CDSSR staff to discuss your research project. Topics could include: statistical software questions, study design questions, and assess ways CDSSR can help.
- Concept stage support including assistance on study design, sample size and power analysis, and statistical analysis plans for grant and protocol development.
- Project stage support including data management consultation, data preparation, interim analysis, statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation and review.
- Infrastructure support including participation in the Clinical Research Review Committee (CRRC) and Data Safety and Monitoring Committee (DSMC) and statistical support to other OHSU Knight Cancer Institute core resources.
- Qualitative support including research design, selecting methods, developing IRB protocols, data collection, conducting interviews, focus groups, qualitative analysis, transcript preparation, conducting thematic analysis, synthesizing themes, and dissemination.
