Dr. Michelle Noelck, MD is a pediatric hospitalist and Professor of Pediatrics at Oregon Health & Science University, where she serves as Chief Quality Officer for Doernbecher Children's Hospital and Vice Chair of Quality and Safety for the Department of Pediatrics. She is a nationally recognized leader in pediatric quality improvement, currently serving as Chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics' Pediatric Acute and Critical Care Quality Network. Dr. Noelck has led multiple national quality improvement collaboratives focused on improving care for hospitalized children, including efforts to reduce overuse of high-flow nasal cannula therapy in bronchiolitis and to improve care for children in mental health crisis. She previously served for a decade as Pediatric Clerkship Director at the OHSU School of Medicine, where she helped redesign the national pediatric clerkship curriculum through the Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics (COMSEP) and contributed to national exam development through the National Board of Medical Examiners. Her scholarly work centers on applying improvement science to enhance the safety, value, and quality of care for hospitalized pediatric patients.
