About me

Lauren Ayala practices as a registered nurse in the Department of Dermatology where she specializes in laser treatments. Her expertise spans both cosmetic and medical necessity patients, ensuring high quality care for all individuals. She finds working in dermatology gratifying as she can assist with improving patients' skin health while also learning and collaborating in a dynamic field.

Lauren graduated in nursing from Seattle University. Her journey in healthcare began in burn, plastics, and pediatric trauma where she gained invaluable experience in wound healing and patient care. Lauren moved back to her hometown of Portland and further expanded her knowledge in emergency medicine at OHSU, where she honed her skills in critical care.

Beyond the clinic, she finds pleasure in hosting guests, culinary arts, tending to her garden, international travel, and group fitness classes. Most important to her is the time spent with her husband, family, and friends.

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
