Bike Share

You don't need to own a bike to pedal to OHSU.

Biketown is Portland's public bike share system intended for one-way or round trips within the service area (Portland's central neighborhoods, including South Waterfront campus but not including Marquam Hill).

Biketown at the Tram

Use Biketown for traveling to and from campus or other locations for appointments, work, or school. Biketown can also help riders connect with transit lines that would otherwise be a long walk or require a transfer. Biketown is eligible for cash incentive for trips to OHSU for work and school.

Go By Bike Share

Free bikes are available to people with an OHSU email for same day round trips to Go By Bike Share racks around South Waterfront.

Go By Bike Share Hub

These bikes are a good option for traveling between buildings, grabbing a lunch, taking a meeting off campus, or just stretching your legs. When not in use, the intention is that the bikes are easily usable by other people in the OHSU community.

The bikes are maintained by Go By Bike. Please report any issues with the bike to Go By Bike and drop off at their shop if possible.

Making a reservation

You can take these bikes wherever you please. The bikes live at South Waterfront stations. See the map at bottom.

You'll be active within one business day of sign up. To receive your unlock code, text the number posted on the rear fender of the bike to 971-236-2453. Save this phone number you will need to text each time you check out a bike as codes will change.

Using the bike around the community

Go By Bike share lock example

Always lock the bike when your eyes aren't on it. Be sure the U-lock is securing the frame and not just a wheel or basket.

Please ride legally and respectfully.

Ending a reservation

Go By Bike Share Rack at the waterfront

Just return to one of the designated bike share racks by the end of the day. It's a small system. When a bike is gone for too long, riders will miss it. If you have a problem with a bicycle please report it to Go By Bike staff.

You're almost ready to ride! To help bike share make friends, please follow the rules of the road, yield for people, pass slowly, and tell your friends.
