Previous Campagna Scholars

2021 — Jordan Harmer, a medical student from Oregon Health & Science University, is working with Dr. Jesse Liu on a project comparing the neurological outcomes of patients with non-traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage via ruptured aneurysm treated with clipping via either a craniotomy or decompressive craniectomy.

2019 — Brittany Stedelin, a medical student from Oregon Health & Science University, worked with Ahmed Raslan, MD and Justin Cetas, MD, PhD. Her projects were outcomes of surgery for non-lesional medically refractory epilepsy and investigating the link between obesity and meningioma.

2018 — Ashlie  Maldonado, a medical student from Ponce Health Sciences University, Puerto Rico, worked with Seunggu Jude Han, MD on neuro-oncology research.

2017 — Lillian Boettcher, a medical student from The University of Utah School of Medicine, worked with Aclan Dogan, MD on research involving pipeline embolization for intracranial aneurysms and condylar dural arteriovenous fistulas.

2016 — Alexa Semonche, a medical student from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School worked with Justin Cetas, MD, PhD. Her project looked at vasospasm and delayed cerebral ischemia outcomes in aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage patients with a past medical history of migraines.

2015 — Ajay Patel, a medical student from Indiana University School of Medicine completed his summer research project working with Lissa Baird, MD. His project looked at symptomatic presentation as a predictor of pathologic diagnosis and tumor size in pediatric brain tumor patients.

2014 — Aaron Chance, a medical student from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. His summer research project, working with Lissa Baird, MD, involved outcomes data reflecting the utilization of endoscopic third ventriculostomy with choroid plexus cauterization as a viable alternative to traditional shunting in the pediatric hydrocephalus patient population
