Activity details
Healthcare is facing a perfect storm: spiraling costs, rising mortality rates, a surge in chronic diseases, and widespread provider burnout. It feels like a system in crisis, but the situation is not hopeless. In this hour, we'll explore problems and real actionable solutions in healthcare. There are no magic bullets, but we do have powerful tools at our disposal. By introducing concepts from Health Systems Science, we can learn how to diagnose the system's issues and prescribe a cure. You will gain practical skills to drive local change and advocate for broader, science-based reforms. In addition, learn how to start building your own expertise in Health Systems Science, with free curricular content to continue strengthening your skills long after this session concludes.
Led by Dr. Andrea (Anne) Smeraglio, Associate Professor of Medicine, Director for Health Systems Science OHSU Internal Medicine Residency Program
Presented in collaboration with the Office of Educational Improvement and Innovation.
