Dr. Dieckmann is the Interim Senior Associate Dean for Research, Ph.D. Program Director, and Director of the Statistics Core in the School of Nursing. He is also associated faculty with the Clinical Psychology program (School of Medicine) and the OHSU/PSU School of Public Health. He teaches statistical methods with particular focus on structural equation modeling, longitudinal modeling, and psychometrics. 

Dr. Dieckmann also conducts basic and applied research in the decision sciences. His current work is focused on the development of patient decision aids and exploring the best ways to use AI tools to increase scientific productivity and innovation. Other current areas of interest include understanding public perceptions of conflicting scientific information, the use of AI models in healthcare, and the causes and impacts of trust in science more generally.
