Michael J. Dienberg, D.D.S. is a member of Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Hospital Dental Service (HDS) Adult Hospital Dental Surgery and General Practice Residency Program. He is appointed Assistant Professor through the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

    He was a member of Arkansas Children’s Hospital Pediatric and Special Needs Dental Department and an Assistant Professor at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), CDE Center for Dental Education. In addition, he held a clinical appointment as an Assistant Professor at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry.

     A native of Racine, Wisconsin, Dr. Dienberg graduated with two degrees from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He has a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the School of Dentistry (MUSOD). After graduating dental school, he completed a hospital based general practice residency program at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences which focused on care of patients with significant health issues, special needs and medical complexities. At Arkansas Children’s Hospital his clinical concentration was on the care of the patients with cleft lip/palate and craniofacial deformities.  To further his desire to serve this population, he received NasoAlveolar Molding (NAM) training at New York University (NYU) Medical Center. NAM is a type of pre-surgical infant orthopedic (PSIO) therapy performed during the first 6 months of infancy to improve long term clinical outcomes for those patients born with a cleft lip/palate. 

     In addition to care with cleft lip/palate and craniofacial deformities, he also has interests in dental and medical informatics. He is a certified Epic Physician Builder (Electronic Health Record), currently serves as Co-Chair of the Epic Dental Steering Board, serves on the OHSU Physician Builder Clinical Champions Committee and has a strong desire to continue his pursuit of PhD in Biomedical Informatics Imaging.
 
     Dr. Dienberg has volunteered on several dental and medical mission trips to Guatemala to provide free dental services to the underserved. He is a member of Oregon Dental Association (ODA), American Dental Association (ADA), American Dental Education Association (ADEA), American Academy of Developmental Medicine & Dentistry (AADMD) and American Dental Society of Anesthesiologists (ADSA).
