Biography

I’m a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Oregon Health & Science University, where I serve as Associate Professor in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. My clinical expertise focuses on breast reconstruction and lymphatic surgery, with an emphasis on microsurgical and supermicrosurgical techniques to restore form and function for patients affected by cancer, trauma and lymphatic disorders.

My passion is helping patients reclaim what they feel they’ve lost—whether that’s physical function, a sense of normalcy or confidence in their bodies. I’m inspired by one of the early pioneers of plastic surgery, Gaspare Tagliacozzi, who said, “We restore, rebuild, and make whole those parts which nature hath given, but which fortune has taken away—not so much that it may delight the eye, but that it might buoy up the spirit, and help the mind of the afflicted.” That philosophy guides everything I do.

I received my medical degree from Yale University and completed plastic surgery residency at the University of Washington in Seattle. I then pursued advanced fellowship training in microsurgery and lymphatic surgery at the Hospital de Sant Pau in Barcelona, Spain, with additional training throughout Europe and Asia. Before joining OHSU, I served on the faculty at MedStar Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where I helped establish a lymphatic surgery program and cared for patients with a wide range of reconstructive needs.

At OHSU, I’m committed to providing personalized, compassionate care and expanding access to advanced reconstructive options for patients across the Pacific Northwest—where I grew up. Whether it’s through breast reconstruction, microsurgery or lymphatic bypass, my goal is to help each patient move forward with confidence and renewed strength.
