Biography
In the Graduate Programs in Human Nutrition, I teach courses focused on clinical nutrition as well as the nutrition physical exam. As the director of the capstone program for our MS in Human Nutrition, I help guide students through the completion of their capstone projects. I enjoy mentoring students and watching them grow into skilled and competent nutrition professionals.
Before coming to OHSU, I worked as a clinical dietitian at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center and the VA Portland Health Care System. I began my academic career at Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA, where I received a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies. After time spent volunteering with AmeriCorps and working in the field of clinical research, I returned to school and received a BS in Nutrition and Food Management from Oregon State University. I completed my dietetic internship and MS in Clinical Nutrition at OHSU. I am currently enrolled in the Doctor of Clinical Nutrition program at Rutgers School of Health Professions.
I am a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Oregon Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, where I am currently on the board as the Director of Member Services. I'm the Vice Chair for the Nutrition Care Process and Terminology Committee for the Academy.
I was born and raised in Oregon and enjoy sharing my home state with my family and friends.
