Esther G. Chong, M.D. (she/her)
- Assistant Professor of OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, School of Medicine
Biography
Dr. Esther G. Chong is a medical oncologist specializing in breast cancer, with expertise treating all subtypes across both early stage and metastatic disease. Her research has been presented at national conferences and published in leading journals, with particular interests in survivorship, young women with breast cancer, lobular carcinomas, and the use of biomarkers to guide personalized therapy.
She believes the best care starts with truly knowing her patients, their backgrounds, stories, and priorities, so she can partner with them on a tailored treatment plan that reflects their goals. She knows a breast cancer diagnosis does not end with initial treatment, and is dedicated to addressing long term side effects and helping patients thrive well beyond their diagnosis.
Outside of work, Dr. Chong enjoys paddleboarding with her family, practicing yoga, and checking out local thrift stores.
