Eriko Onishi, M.D. (she/her)

  • Assistant Professor of Family Medicine, School of Medicine

Biography

Dr. Eriko Onishi chose family medicine for its approach of seeing each patient as an entire person, rather than simply focusing on disease. She enjoys the relationships she has developed with her diverse group of patients and their families through years of follow-up care. She feels privileged to be trusted with the care of this extraordinary group of people.

She also specializes in hospice and palliative care and is increasingly involved in geriatric care, having the unique opportunity to share the most important and meaningful moments of her patients' lives. Her research interests currently center on palliative care.

Dr. Onishi is originally from Tokushima, Japan. She lives near Portland, Oregon, with her husband, son and dog. They all love visiting the Oregon Coast to run and play on the beach.
