Biography
Bryan is a graduate student in the Neuroscience Graduate Program (NGP) at the Vollum Institute at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Under the mentorship of Dr. Ece Ekşi, his research focuses on cancer neuroscience, specifically investigating the dynamic interplay between nerves and prostate cancer to identify novel therapeutic targets.
Before joining the Vollum Institute and later CEDAR, Bryan earned his bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from Case Western Reserve University. As an undergraduate, he conducted research in Dr. Masashi Tabuchi’s lab, where he explored the biophysical mechanisms underlying circadian regulation in Drosophila melanogaster.
Beyond the lab, Bryan enjoys exploring Portland’s vibrant food scene. He’s a passionate cinephile, avid basketball player, and die-hard Steelers fan. His other hobbies include volleyball, lifting, skiing, playing the cello, and listening to a wide range of music.
