Dr. Oken completed his medical degree at Medical College of Wisconsin in 1978, and underwent his residency at the Boston University Medical Center. His specialty is behavioral neurology, which include cognitive disorders and dementia. Dr. Oken, who is also the medical director of Intraoperative Neuromonitoring and Evoked Potentials, has been certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology since 1985. He has had a sustained research interest in Integrative Medicine (www.ohsu.edu/orccamind) with a particular focus on mind-body therapies, including their use with older adults, dementia caregivers, and other disorders associated with chronic psychological stress.
