Dr. Deiorio joined the Department of Emergency Medicine in 2000. She was promoted to Professor rank in 2007 and was the Co-Director of the Emergency Medicine Education Section and also served as the Director of Medical Student Education. Among her many national awards and honors is the Hal Jayne Excellence in Education Award from the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Deiorio’s new home is the Virginia Commonwealth University where she will serve as the Associate Dean for Student Affairs. Best wishes Dr. Deiorio!
