Modern life can be challenging. It can knock people off track and they may need assistance finding their footing. I work with patients in an engaged collaboration to capitalize on their innate strengths, flexibility, and resilience to regain their footing and continue to climb.

As a patient of mine, you can expect a sensitive, but playful, trauma-informed approach to understanding your biology, your history, your identity, your implicit relational psychology. We may utilize a combination of psychoeducation, psychotherapy, and psychiatric medications – and balance among these as your condition requires.  As the brain, body, and social systems are connected, I will, with your permission, happily collaborate with other care providers and family members as necessary to assist in your recovery goals.

I have always been fascinated by human behavior, culture, and the biology of the brain. I have a background in media and cultural studies and I spent time as an inner city teacher and as a software designer prior to rediscovering my love of the intersection of culture and biology in the brain. Professionally, I have had my own private practice and have worked in clinical and administrative roles in a community mental health organization. My current professional interests are balanced clinical care, education of future providers, integrated medical/psychiatric care, and use of technology in clinical practice, in psychiatric population management, and in psychiatric public health.
