Scott is a board‑certified Physician Assistant through the NCCPA. He completed his undergraduate degree in Emergency Health Services and earned his paramedic certification in 1995 from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He served as a paramedic with New Castle County (Delaware) EMS until 2000, when he began his Physician Assistant training at Finch University of Health Sciences—now known as Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. He graduated in 2002 with a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

Scott has practiced as a Physician Assistant for more than 23 years, with experience in Trauma, Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgery. He served as OHSU’s inaugural Sepsis Program Manager from 2022 to 2026, helping lead institutional efforts focused on early recognition, clinical pathways, and systems‑level improvement in sepsis care. Scott is also a member of Oregon’s Disaster Medical Assistance Team and has served on several deployments.
