Biography

Dr. Sarah Friedland is a resident physician practicing full-spectrum family medicine, with particular interest in maternity care, preventive care, palliative and end-of-life care and chronic disease management.

Dr. Friedland finds it a privilege to know patients and families over the course of a lifetime. She is committed to taking care of patients from all walks of life, providing a welcoming space so they can meet their health goals and stay well. She sees her role as not just to treat and prevent illness but also to guide patients through the health care system. She has a particular interest in health care ethics and often reflects on the role of humanism in medicine.

Dr. Friedland is an avid bike commuter and appreciates the views of Mount Hood from every angle. Outside of the office, she can be found exploring new parts of Portland with her partner, Facetiming family back on the East Coast, cooking dinner or spending time outside. She also plays trumpet and derives particular joy from klezmer, a style of Jewish folk music.
