Biography

Dr. Marshall has been a faculty member of the OHSU Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division for over a decade and has served in many leadership roles in clinical care, education and research.  

As an attending physician and, more recently, the director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Consult/liaison Service, Dr. Marshall’s clinical work has centered around crisis care for youth and families who present to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital with behavioral health or medical /behavioral health needs. Since 2017, Dr. Marshall has led the Data, Evaluation, and Technical Assistance (DAETA) Team for Children's Behavioral Health, partnering with the Oregon Health Authority and community organizations to develop data-driven approaches that improve behavioral health services for children and adolescents across the state. Under her leadership, the DAETA team has helped shape and evaluate statewide programs serving youth with complex mental health needs and has become a trusted resource for policymakers, providers, and community partners. She is widely recognized for her expertise in youth mental health crisis care, suicide prevention, and systems improvement. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed research papers and technical reports on youth crisis care and serves on state and national committees focused on improving behavioral health services for youth and families across Oregon and the US. Dr. Marshall was named the Oregon Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist of the Year in 2022 by the Oregon Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and has been honored as one of Portland’s “Top Doctors” for several years running.
