I am an Indigenous Community Oncology Navigator at OHSU. I promote culturally respectful support for Tribal communities navigating OHSU cancer research and care. 

In this role, my main goal is to walk with Indigenous patients along their journey from cancer diagnosis through survivorship. I can help navigate OHSU’s systems and appointments, helping keep track of who they are meeting with. 

I can serve as a point of contact for any follow-up questions or concerns about appointments, ensuring patients are connected to the appropriate team members to get answers. I can connect patients to resources to help alleviate barriers to care. I am also able to help connect patients to community events and gain access to traditional medicines. 

Being able to serve my community is an honor. As someone who has experienced how cancer impacts not only a whole family, but also a whole community, I am passionate about advocating for better access to care for our community. I love that OHSU has created this position and has been so supportive along this journey while we develop this role to serve our Indigenous folks. I hope that one day, we can create a cancer-free community for future generations, though for now I am grateful for this opportunity to be of service and show up for our people. 

Outside of work, I love spending time with my children, family and friends. We love being outdoors, hiking and camping. During summer, we especially love gathering berries together. I also love to sew and bead; it’s a wonderful feeling being able to create things for those I love.
