Biography

Nathan Samuel is a nurse practitioner who specializes in the care of patients with advanced heart failure and heart transplantation. After working as a registered nurse in Eureka, California, he moved to Portland in 2015 to begin working at OHSU as a cardiovascular registered nurse. His experiences working with patients living with heart failure inspired his path to becoming a nurse practitioner and led him to complete a doctoral nursing research project aimed at identifying ways to help patients with heart failure avoid re-hospitalizations. He is passionate about providing holistic and patient-centered care while working with patients with heart failure to achieve their health goals.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, pampering his two cats, running, cycling, following major league baseball, listening to podcasts, and reading.
