Nathan Samuel is a nurse practitioner who specializes in the care of patients with advanced heart failure and heart transplantation. After working as a registered nurse in Eureka, California, he moved to Portland in 2015 to begin working at OHSU as a cardiovascular registered nurse. His experiences working with patients living with heart failure inspired his path to becoming a nurse practitioner and led him to complete a doctoral nursing research project aimed at identifying ways to help patients with heart failure avoid re-hospitalizations.
