Biography

Margaret “Maggie” Overstreet, O.D. was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She received her undergraduate degree from Baylor University before returning home to train at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry where she earned her Doctor of Optometry. She then furthered her clinical training by completing a Pediatric Residency where she held an academic appointment and saw patients at The State University of New York College of Optometry and within New York City Health + Hospitals.

Dr. Overstreet was initially drawn to Casey Eye Institute because of its strong reputation and commitment to excellence in clinical care, academics, and research. The inviting and supportive practice culture within the Pediatric Division solidified her decision to join faculty. She is happy to partner in the clinic’s mission to expand access to eye care for children in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Overstreet knows that quality, evidence-based eye and vision care are an integral part of overall childhood wellness, and she is thankful to provide that care here at Casey Eye Institute.

While not in clinic, Dr. Overstreet enjoys reading in coffee shops, spending quiet evenings with friends, and learning about native flowers.
