Keren McCord, L.C.S.W. (she/her)
- Manager of Patient and Family Services
Biography
I am a social worker who supports patients and families through serious illness, grief and life changes.
I serve as the manager of the Knight Cancer Institute’s Patient and Family Services Department. Before this role, I spent two decades as an oncology social worker in the Center for Hematologic Malignancies, where I supported people living with blood cancers and their loved ones.
I spent the early part of my career running summer camps for children with special needs, including camps for kids with hemophilia, bleeding disorders, and HIV/AIDS.
I’ve also completed a two-year fellowship in bioethics at OHSU, and I stay active in ethics-related work across the hospital. I am involved with the Workplace Violence Committee, serve on the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team, and co-facilitate Schwartz Rounds.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends, getting outdoors, and playing with my three rescue pups.
