Evgeny Pavlushkov, M.D., Ph.D.
- Fellow, Diagnostic Radiology, School of Medicine
Biography
Evgeny was born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where he received his medical and surgical training. He later joined the Department of Thoracic Surgery and Intensive Pulmonology at City Hospital No. 2 in Saint Petersburg, becoming part of a young and enthusiastic team. One of the projects he joined — the surgical treatment of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension — led to a short-term fellowship at Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, UK. That experience enabled his home team to adopt the hospital’s protocol and deepen their understanding of the condition and its surgical management. Several years later, Evgeny returned to Royal Papworth as a clinical fellow on the cardiothoracic transplant team. During that time, he developed an interest in radiology and ultimately decided to change his career path. He completed a radiology residency in Nottingham with a subspecialty focus on neuroradiology and subsequently joined OHSU as an Alternative Pathway Fellow in 2023.
