Biography

Evgeny was born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where he received his primary medical education and surgical training. After graduation, he joined the Department of Thoracic Surgery and Intensive Pulmonology at City Hospital No. 2 in Saint Petersburg as part of a multidisciplinary team. Among the projects he contributed to was the surgical treatment of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. This work led to a short‑term fellowship at Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, UK, and to the adoption of advanced protocols for the surgical management of this condition at his home institution. Evgeny later had the opportunity to return to Royal Papworth Hospital, where he was privileged to join a cardiothoracic transplant team as a clinical fellow. During this period, he developed a strong interest in radiology and subsequently transitioned his career to the field. He completed a radiology residency in Nottingham, UK with a subspecialty focus in neuroradiology and ultimately joined OHSU as an ABR Alternate Pathway fellow. During his initial years at OHSU, he pursued additional fellowship training in neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, and emergency imaging.
