Erin Flynn, Ph.D.

Biography
Erin leads the Outreach Program at the Institute of Occupational Health Sciences at Oregon Health and Science University. Her team is responsible for translating faculty research into practice and delivering educational programs that improve worker health, safety, and wellbeing in Oregon and beyond. Erin is also the principal investigator of the Respectful Workplace Initiative, a partnership with Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries to establish and implement respectful workplace practices throughout Oregon's construction industry. Erin brings over two decades of experience in strategic planning, industrial organization, and university-business partnerships to her role at the Institute. Prior to OHSU, she served as Associate Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Portland State University where she led institution-level partnerships focused on technology innovation, workforce development, and urban sustainability. Over the course of her career, she has held leadership roles in higher education, city government, and consulting. She has served on and led myriad boards, and regularly presents her work at regional and national conferences. Erin received a BA from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
