Cymon Kersch Read, M.D., Ph.D.

  • Assistant Professor of Radiation Medicine, School of Medicine

Biography

Dr. Cymon Kersch Read's research focuses on primary brain tumors, breast cancer that has spread to the brain, and advanced imaging of brain tumors, with the goal of improving how these diseases are detected, characterized and treated.

Clinically, she specializes in treating patients with brain tumors and breast cancers. Her approach is centered on providing thoughtful, high-quality cancer care while prioritizing each patient’s comfort and understanding throughout treatment. She believes patients should feel well informed about their diagnosis and treatment options and supported in making decisions that reflect their individual needs and goals. She works closely with multidisciplinary teams to bring together expertise from across specialties, helping ensure that each patient’s care is comprehensive, individualized and informed by multiple perspectives.

As a Pacific Northwest native, she's grateful to care for patients in the region she has always considered home. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with my family and exploring the Pacific Northwest through hiking, running and cycling.
