Biography

Colin Schaeffer, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology. Dr. Schaeffer graduated from the University of Florida in 2023 with a doctorate in medical physics before transitioning to Henry Ford Health for a residency position in diagnostic medical physics.

During his training, Dr. Schaeffer received several accolades including Oak Ridge Institute of Scientific Education research fellowship at the Division of Imaging, Diagnostics, and Software Reliability within the FDA and the ACR Morin Fellowship in medical physics. 

Dr. Schaeffer is heavily involved in professional organizations supporting radiology and medical physics such as the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and the American College of Radiology (ACR). 

In his spare time, Dr. Schaeffer likes to explore the natural beauty of Oregon with his wife and dog.
