Benjamin Chen, MD, MS, MPH

  • Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, School of Medicine

Biography

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I attended UC Berkeley for college followed by UCSF for graduate school. I earned my combined MD/MPH at Tulane University in New Orleans. Thereafter I completed Internal Medicine residency in Iowa City, and then Infectious Disease fellowship in San Diego, where I pursued additional medical education training through the Clinician Educator track. Following fellowship I joined the faculty at Loma Linda University, working in both General ID and HIV Medicine roles in a largely underserved setting. There, I also served as an interprofessional education instructor within the School of Dentistry under a Part F grant from the Ryan White AIDS Education and Training Center. I am passionate about medical education at all levels, as well as the care of people living with HIV. Outside of work I can be found relaxing with my family and two cats.
