Originally from Bend, Oregon, Barrett moved to Portland for college in 2021. They were drawn to the easy access to nature, the music scene, yummy food and how whimsical it is.

Barrett comes to APOM via the Morgans Lab in Chemical Physiology and Biochemistry at OHSU where they focused on the retina. Barrett graduated from Reed College last spring with a BA in Neuroscience. 

Outside of work, Barrett enjoys listening to music, playing guitar, going to concerts, hiking, backpacking, drawing, thrifting, and spending time with their two cats, Iris and Aurora.
