Biography

Dr. Asha Jetmalani (She/Her) is a psychiatrist who works with adults, specializing in providing care to the LGBTQIA+ community.  She is a psychiatric consultant to the OHSU Transgender Health Program and member of their multidisciplinary team.  In this role, she provides consultations to primary care providers to offer diagnostic clarity and medication recommendations for their gender diverse patients in a safe, affirming environment.  She also provides longer term care in her clinic, offering supportive therapy and medication management as tools for healing from mental illness.  She aims to provide care through a lens of anti-oppression, understanding that our health and relationships are affected by the experience of social, systemic and historical marginalization.  She helps her patients identify their strengths and areas of resilience, while addressing underlying biologic aspects of mental illness through the consideration of contributing medical conditions and utilization of psychopharmacology when needed.
